Individual Lookup

Find one company's recent news from its domain and get it back directly. Synchronous.

POST /company_news

Costs 1 credit, charged only when news is found — the same rate a row of List Lookup costs, so the price does not change with how you call it. Returns the answer directly in the response, no list and no polling.

Pass a company domain. There is no prompt on this endpoint: Company News asks a fixed question, so you supply the company and the API supplies the question. To ask something in your own words, use Research with AI instead.

A full URL is accepted. The scheme, www. and any path or query string are stripped before the search, so https://www.stripe.com/pricing?x=1 and stripe.com behave identically.

not_found

No

400

The domain does not resolve. Check it for a typo.

No

A quiet quarter and a domain that does not exist read identically in the model's answer, so the domain is checked before the model is called and the two are reported differently.

Only dated, substantive events from the last 12 months count — funding, launches, partnerships, acquisitions, expansion, awards, leadership hires. Website updates, routine blog posts, directory listings and undated items are deliberately excluded, and a company with none of the former returns not_found rather than filler.

Field

Description

domain

string

The bare domain that was searched, with scheme, www. and any path removed.

company_news

string

The news prose, or null when nothing dated was found in the window.

The record is under data. See Response Format for the fields every endpoint returns.

To run this against every row of a list in one call instead, use List Lookup.
