# List Lookup

Find the hiring manager at every company on a list and add them to it. Asynchronous.

<mark style="color:green;">`POST`</mark> `/find_hiring_manager_list`

{% hint style="info" %}
**1 credit** per person added with a **valid** email; a company where nobody is found is free. A company with several jobs on the list is searched once. `credits_estimated` in the reply is the most it can cost: one per company.
{% endhint %}

Runs [Individual Lookup](/enrichments/find-hiring-manager/individual-lookup.md) for every company on a list, as a background job, and **adds** each hiring manager found to the same list as a new contact. The job rows themselves are not changed.

By default it reads the `job_posts` view, one row per saved job with its poster, so the job's poster is tried first for each company.

**Saved views.** To run only on the contacts in a saved view, send its name as `saved_view`. See [List Saved Views](/manage-lists/list-saved-views.md).

**Example**

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Input" %}

```json
{
  "api_key": "your_api_key",
  "listname": "Boston Exec Finance Jobs",
  "max_rows": 3
}
```

{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Output" %}

```json
{
  "status": "queued",
  "job_id": "a736fdb6b7904a53be04173f1df3ec74",
  "list_name": "Boston Exec Finance Jobs",
  "view": "job_posts",
  "rows_selected": 3,
  "rows_fetched": 3,
  "truncated": true,
  "max_rows": 3,
  "credits_estimated": 3.0,
  "credits_used": 0.0,
  "credits_per_row": 1.0,
  "message": "Finding hiring managers at 3 companies. Each one found with a valid email is added to 'Boston Exec Finance Jobs' at 1 credit; at most 3. Poll /check_list_status, then /download_list.",
  "success": true
}
```

{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

### The three steps

1. **Start it** with `POST /find_hiring_manager_list` as above.
2. **Poll** `POST /check_list_status` with the same `listname` until `status` is `done`. `status_detail` reads e.g. `2 hiring managers`.
3. **Download** with `POST /download_list`. Each person found is a new row with `person_name`, `current_title`, `email`, `email_status`, `person_linkedin_url` and the company, and this line in its `log`:

```
